Great Eastern Institute of Maritime Studies (GEIMS) Lonavala has recently announced the release of the admission forms for the Diploma in Nautical Science (DNS) course for the August 2025 batch.
Great Eastern Institute of Maritime Studies (GEIMS), Lonavala is one of the oldest and premier maritime institutes in the country.

GEIMS operates under its parent company Great Eastern Shipping Corporation Limited (GESCO), an Indian-ownership company having a fleet of 42 ships which comprises of 8 crude tankers, 18 product carriers, 5 gas carriers and 14 dry bulk carriers . It not only offers sponsorship with Great Eastern Shipping, but placement opportunities with other big giants of maritime fraternity such as Eastern Pacific, Nautic Fleet, Fleet Management, and Goodwood.

The stipend has seen a substantial increase, now set at upto $400, from ₹16,500 (2022 stats).
PROCEDURE
- Students need to fill out the DNS form at ( https://applyonline.geims.in/Marrine/showRegistration) . The Application fees is ₹700.
- An online exam will be scheduled and details will be sent to registered email id . According to the prospectus, a written exam will be conducted within 7 days; however, it typically starts in March. Unlike before, where students had a full week, now slots will be allocated on an hourly basis, and candidates must log in during the specified time.
- Candidates must clear cutoffs for each of the 5 sections in the exam, and it’s wise to refer to last year’s cutoffs for guidance.

- Results will sent to registered email just after the exam and the cutoffs will be published later on .
- Those who clear the cutoff will be called for interviews, likely at the end of May based on previous year statistics.
- Interview shortlisted candidates will be sent to medicals and a final merit list of 80 students will be published.
